HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I don’t really do new year’s resolutions, but I have challenged myself to posting 52 weeks of felt related posts here on the Candyland Studio blog in 2014. Posts will include tutorials, tips and tricks, different ideas and ways to use flannel boards and felt sets for fun or when teaching, and will feature various projects and sets, some of which are made and sold by yours truly (shameless plugs, if you will). These weekly posts shall be known as FELT FUN FRIDAY!!
What’s so great about felt?
Soooo many things I don’t know where to begin. But I’ll try. First, if you’re the crafty type it’s a really great material to work with because it comes in lots of great colors, can be cut with scissors or a variety of cutting machines. You can sew with it, glue it, embellish it to create a huge assortment of things – educational sets to use when teaching, fun sets for pretend play, home decor or gift items, hair accessories, jewelry, and so much more. Felt projects can be as simple as cutting out shapes freehand, or intricately designed pieces.
Are you excited yet?
Get your felt/flannel boards ready and stop by here on Friday…and if you don’t already have a board yet, then you definitely don’t want to miss the first post where I’ll tell you where to by a flannel board or how to make your own felt board. (It’s really not that hard!)
