Happy Valentine’s Day! Won’t you…
I hope you had a chance to check out the printable Valentines and felt sucker covers I posted awhile back in honor of today. Even if you didn’t use them this year, the sucker covers are fun any time!
Today’s Felt Fun Friday project can also be used year round. Plus there are lots of ways to personalize this felt item making it a wonderful gift idea. I had the idea for these when I made the little bags for the Monster Toss Game.

I started by cutting two red felt hearts, about 3″ wide. Then I cut out white iron-on letters. (If you have a Cricut or other cutting machine heat press vinyl would be wonderful…in hindsight I should’ve probably used that.)
Then I sewed around the edge leaving about a 1″ opening. Again, in hindsight since I’ll never win any awards for my sewing skills I probably should’ve sewed this inside out and turn back out to finish. LOL
Next I filled the heart with rice and a little bit of my Perfectly Posh All Mixed Up scented salts. Maybe 1/2 teaspoon? (You know me, I don’t like patterns and I don’t like measuring!) You could also use scented herbs or lavender or lots of things, really. This is just what I had on hand and I was super excited to find another use for this product!
I finished the heart by stitching up the open area, which I conveniently cropped out of this photo because it was not super pretty. =) It makes a cute little gift for grandparents, teachers, etc. It smells really nice so they can leave it in a drawer, or pop it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds at a time to use it as a heat pack, or keep it in the freezer for a cold pack.
This project is very quick and easy, and you could do different shapes, sizes, colors, and you could personalize the bags for different holidays, or put a monogram on it if it’s a gift…SO many options!
